Are you talking about your problem or are talking through them?

I was on the internet the other day, and I came across a blog that was entitled “Stop talking about your problems. It steals your joy?”.


It sparked my curiosity. Should we stop talking about problems? Does it steal our joy?


I don’t think so. I mean, if we’re just “talking ABOUT a problem”, it could be quite dis-empowering. It’s as though it lives outside our zone of control or influence.


Alternatively, I think talking THROUGH a problem can be really helpful. It’s more in our control and helps us feel like we can do something about it.


Also, when we talk THROUGH a problem it can help us gain clarity regarding what the problem is That is a key step in finding a solution.
